# Privacy Policy – SignageNow TV Player

This privacy policy describes the data the Android TV app **SignageNow TV Player** ("the app") processes when you run it on a Google TV, Android TV or Chromecast device.

## 2. Data we process

The app is a thin player for SignageNow playlists. It processes only the following data:

**Stored locally on your device (never sent to us):**

- 6-character playlist codes you choose to save

- Optionally: username and password for protected playlists, only if you explicitly opt in to saving them

- Per-playlist play count (local statistics)

This data lives in the app's private sandboxed storage. Other apps cannot access it. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

**Sent to third-party servers:**

- When you play a playlist, the app connects over HTTPS to `app.signagenow.io`. Data processing on that platform is governed by SignageNow's privacy policy at https://www.signagenow.tv.

- No identifiers, telemetry or usage metrics are sent to us or to any third party.

## 3. Permissions requested

The app requests the following Android permissions:

## 4. Cookies, tracking, advertising

The app contains **no** advertising networks, **no** analytics SDKs and **no** crash tracking. We do not collect advertising IDs, device fingerprints or usage metrics.

Inside the SignageNow web player (loaded in a WebView), `signagenow.io` may set cookies that are necessary for player operation.

## 5. Legal basis (GDPR)

Where data is processed, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance — delivering the player functionality you requested) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functional signage player).

## 6. Retention

Locally stored data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or actively delete it (delete the playlist / clear app data via Android settings).

## 7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Because the app does not transmit personal data to us, access and erasure requests typically concern SignageNow account data — please address those directly to https://www.signagenow.tv.

## 8. Changes

We may update this privacy policy if the app's behaviour changes. The current version is always available at this URL.
