Media items form the foundation that ensures your content looks exactly as you envision it on the screens. A playlist in SignageNow is essentially an organized collection of these items that are played one after another.

What is a Media-Item?
For us, a media item is much more than just a simple image. You have complete freedom to combine a wide variety of formats to make your message dynamic:
- Templates (Screen Apps): Use our ready-made layouts for news, weather, digital menu boards, or event announcements and easily customize them.
- Images & Graphics: Upload your own designs (JPG, PNG) directly.
- Videos: Embed videos however you like—whether as a direct upload, via YouTube, or via Vimeo.
- URLs & Web Content: Link to external websites or use your own URLs for dynamic content that updates in real time (e.g., dashboards or social media feeds).
- PDF files: Upload your own PDFs and have the individual pages play one after another. Whether it’s a PowerPoint presentation or a newsletter—you decide what plays on your screen.
Full control over sequence and duration
You are the director of your content. For each individual media item, you can specify the following:
- Display duration: Set exactly how long an item should be visible, down to the second. If needed, you can also display a countdown timer.
- Order: Use drag-and-drop to arrange the media items in your playlist so that the flow is just right.
- Schedule: Set the exact time (down to the minute) when each media item should be displayed. Simply create a time schedule for your displays!
